Egypt interior minister refuses dialogue with extremists

Egyptian Minister of the Interior Hassam El Alfy yesterday refused any dialogue with a group called Jamaa Islamyah and spurned a halt to acts of violence declared by the group.
The minister, when asked asked about an attempt by a splinter group of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood to set up a political party, said that it is impossible to establish a party on a religious basis, Al Ahrar daily said today.
