Three Islamists, 65 civilians killed

Algerian film director Ali Tenki was among sixty five civilians killed in sporadic violence on August 24 in the south and west of the Algerian capital Al Watan daily reported.
The paper reported that gunmen believed to be members of Islamist group shot and slaughtered 63 civilians in a town south of the Algerian capital.
The massacre started when gunmen entered the town and separated into two groups. One guarded all exits, while the other entered homes and began killing civilians. They set the homes on fire and kidnapped 17 girls.
