Expected Saudi-Syrian-Egyptian meeting
Regional, Economics, 8/23/1997
Well-informed Arab League (AL) sources said a meeting in Cairo between the Egyptian, Saudi, and Syrian ministers of foreign affairs is being prepared for.
The meeting, which Syria proposed, aims at coordinating the three countries' attitudes toward the AL council's discussions on the Middle East and North Africa Economic conference due to be held in Doha, Qatar next November.
Sources expect the meeting to be convened during Syrian President Hafez Al-Assad's visit to Alexandria in mid-September. AL Secretary General Dr. Esmat Abdel-Maguid would attend.
