AL-Azhar University to host seminar on Muslim women

Al Azhar University will hold a symposium tomorrow on the education of Muslim women regarding religious principles and social traditions.

The Islamic education, scientific and cultural organization will also participate in the four-day symposium.

The symposium aims at affirming womenıs rights to education in accordance with Islamic principles as well as correcting misleading social norms and traditions which impede the development of Muslim women.

The symposium will also review linking Muslim womenıs efforts and comprehension development plans in light of Islamic visions, solving the problems of educating woman in the Islamic world and developing educational programs for girls and women in the Islamic world.

The symposium's agenda includes a number of topics on womenıs rights to education in Islam and the current conditions of womenıs education compared to the education of males.

It will also discuss the Islamic stand concerning social traditions that harm womenıs status in addition to the role of education in upgrading their status and lives.
