Jerusalemites in dire need for international protection
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 3/25/2010
Following of a terrorist attack carried out by an armed group of illegal Israeli settlers against the home of Abu Shaban family in Ras-Alamoud neighborhood adjacent to the Old city of Jerusalem, Fateh Revolutionary Council Member Dimitri Diliani called for international protection for Jerusalemites.
This incident comes few days after similar terrorist group burned several parked cars belonging to Palestinians in Occupied East Jerusalem, he added in a press release.
Diliani stated that the armed settlers caused damage to the home of Abu Shaban family last evening and traumatized seven children who were peacefully preparing to go to sleep when the terrorists savagely attacked the home, broke down its main door, windows and cause other material damage. The settlers claimed that "some kids stoned them from the vicinity of Abu Shaban's home in the crammed neighborhood of Ras Alamoud several hours before their attack."
He pointed out that the Israeli police forces showed up to the crime scene only to protect the Israeli terrorists and push neighbors away from the area. In the process, he added, several Palestinian were roughed up including a number of women and children.
Diliani drew attention to the escalating number of terrorists attacks carried out by such armed ideologically driven Israelis that benefit from private protection services provided by the Israeli government and paid for by International financial aid, Israeli tax payers as well as Palestinian Jerusalemites who are subject to enforced Israeli tax laws.
Diliani criticized the state of Israel, holding it responsible for protecting residents of Occupied East Jerusalem citing international law that also prohibits Israel's expansionist policy of building illegal colonial settlements in the city. Diliani also slammed Israel's support for colonial settler activities especially in the Old city and its surrounding neighborhoods.
