Iran: international bodies mum on Israeli crimes
Palestine-Iran, Politics, 1/22/2008
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini on Monday criticized the international organizations for keeping silent on the crimes being perpetrated by Israel against the defenseless Palestinians living in Gaza Strip.
He said that the international institutions are expected to safeguard the international law and values as well as human rights.
Hosseini said that human rights organizations usually focus on minor issues about human rights, but, they overlook the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip.
"Currently, residential areas in Gaza have come under Israeli indiscriminate bombardments and scores of Palestinian youth, children and women have been killed in Israeli invasion of Gaza since last week (January 16). It is outcome of the US-sponsored peace talks in Annapolis, Maryland, and the unconditional support for the occupation regime of Israel," Hosseini said.
Also, some 203 Members of Iran's parliament on Monday called on speakers and members of parliaments of other countries to condemn Israel for its extensive crimes against Palestinian youth, women and children in Gaza Strip.
