US peace conference as aimed to end Israel isolation: Iranian official

Iran's Secretary General of the International Conference of Quds and Support for Rights of the Palestinian Nation Ali-Akbar Mohtashamipour yesterday warned against US plot to get Israel out of isolation.

In a message to 44 Muslim heads of state, Mohtashamipour said the so-called Autumn Peace Conference, that is due to be held in Annapolis, in the US state of Maryland, aims to get "the Zionist regime out of isolation and raise the scope of Zionists' suppression of the oppressed Palestinian nation."

"Current events in Palestine and continued aggressions of the racist and occupier Zionist regime have given way to highly dangerous conditions. Under such conditions, deep rifts are created among Palestinian resistance forces due to Zionists' plots and simplistic attitudes of some Palestinian brethren. Such rifts have weakened the national might of the Palestinians. Moreover, some Arab and Islamic states, which are supposed to support the Palestinian aspiration, have fallen in discord and suspicion." He said Palestinian issue is in a sensitive juncture.

Warning against internal differences in Palestine and foreign plots, Mohtashamipour stressed the need for spiritual support for Palestinians.

"We have the duty to make world public opinion, especially in the Muslim and Arab world, aware, thus forming a strong block against those who violate the rights of the Palestinians," he said.

He said permanent secretariat of the International Conference on Quds and Support for Rights of the Palestinian People is ready to consider proposals of Muslim heads of state and brief other members of the result as part of its efforts to support the Palestinian nation and noble Quds.
