Iran's FM meets Bahrain's crown prince

Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki visiting Bahrain on Saturday Manama conferred with Bahrain's Crown Prince Sheikh Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa and called for using all potentials to expand cooperation.

He also met with Bahrain foreign minister who described Tehran-Manama ties " good", and expressed his country's readiness to attend the meeting of " Cultural Diversity and Human Rights" in Tehran.

Bahrain foreign minister underlined the necessity of interaction between mass media of both countries and avoiding certain efforts to harm bilateral relations." Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmad al-Khalifa said holding joint economic commission meeting after fasting month of Ramadhan and establishing a committee to finalize gas purchase project from Iran are appropriate grounds to expand mutual ties.

Bahrain's Crown Prince Sheikh Salman said, "Holding joint economic commission and establishing media ties are among new steps in relations between the two countries." Sheikh Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa said, "We consider Iran's power, glory and progress as ours, but some people are trying to affect our friendly relations so we must be aware of such actions."

The Bahraini official said "Manama seriously intends to expand ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran and strengthen opportunities and brotherly ties between the two countries."
