Iran demands contact with five US kidnapped diplomats in Iraq
Iraq-Iran-USA, Politics, 6/12/2007

Iran yesterday demanded consular contact with five diplomats US forces kidnapped in Iraq.

Iran's Foreign Ministry forwarded a letter to the Swiss Embassy, which looks after the US interest section, seeking to call for consular contact with the five kidnapped Iranian diplomats in Erbil, Iraq.

The letter comes after a previous protest on storming Iran's consulate in Erbil, Iraq, calling for arrangement to enable Iran's representative in Baghdad to hold contact with the five kidnapped Iranian diplomats.

US forces broke into Iran's consulate in Erbil on January 11 after disarming its guards and using force to break the gate of the consulate building.
