Meshaal: Israeli attacks increase Palestinian will against occupation
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 7/3/2006
Leaders of the Palestinian resistance movement in Damascus met with Seyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the late founder of the 1979 Iranian Islamic Revolution, late Sunday.
The two sides discussed the "very sensitive" situation in the Middle East, especially in the occupied territories of Palestine, and stressed the necessity of strengthening unity among Palestinians, in particular among its resistance groups.
They condemned this week's Israeli attacks on the defenseless people of Gaza, underlining the right of Palestinians to resist the "Israeli criminal operations".
The two sides further called on the world's Muslims to continue their support for the oppressed people of Palestine.
Referring to the directive of his late father for liberation of sacred Palestine from the savage grip of the Israelis, Hassan Khomeini said the Iranian nation was ready to help Palestinians regain their usurped rights.
Hamas' Political Bureau head Khaled Meshaal said that despite the critical condition of the occupied territories as a result of missile attacks launched this week by the Zionist regime, the spirit of the nation remained strong.
He said the attacks have doubled the determination of Palestinian resistance fighters to rid their country of the occupation.
