Iraq, Local, 12/3/2005
The group which calls itself Saraya Seyouf al-Haq (the groups of the rightful swords) which had kidnapped four foreigners from the Christian peace group gave a grace period for those who it described as concerned with the affairs of the kidnapped until December 8th, and threatened to kill the hostages if their demands are not met.
The groups demand are: to release all detainees in the jails of the Ministry of the Interior in Iraq and the jails of what it called the occupation forces especially Buka and Abu Ghreib jails.
This came in a statement issued by the group accompanied by a tape showing the two Canadians hostages being served with food, and other pictures showed the American and British hostages calling for an end to the American and British military presence in Iraq.
In the same context, the Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sader on Friday called in the kidnappers of the Muslim German archeologist Suzanne Ostove to release her immediately together with her driver.
This call came while the German foreign ministry is trying to contact the kidnappers of the German citizen, who is married to an Iraqi, to ensure her release.
In Morocco, a ministerial emergency meeting was held to discuss the kidnapping of the two Moroccan hostages in Iraq since October 20. The Moroccan minister of communication Nabil Bin Abdullah called for the immediate and unconditional release of the two hostages.
