Egyptian poet to head Arabic language academy

The Arabic Language Academy located in Egypt has chosen on Tuesday the Egyptian poet Farouq Shousha to be the new Secretary General of the Academy succeeding Kamal Beshr.
The Academy which is called the Immortals Academy has closed door of nomination for the post last Monday and no one has nominated himself but Shousha who got membership since 1999.
The poet Shousha has got the State Encouraging Award for Poetry in 1986 as well Kfafis International Prize for Poetry in 1994 in addition to the Saudi Yemani Prize for Poetry in 1994 together with the State Evaluating Prize for Literature in 1997.
