Confrontations between Palestinians, Israeli forces
Palestine-Israel, Military, 8/8/2005

The Israeli occupation forces on Sunday made a security belt around Ramullah city in the West Bank, and installed military barriers north of the governorate, after two Israelis were injured by Palestinian gunmen in an area situated to the north of the city.

The occupation forces in the city found the car used by the executors of the operation after they had detonated it. Fatah movement claimed responsibility for the operation.

Earlier, one Palestinian was killed by the bullets of Israeli soldiers in Rafah Camp, north of Gaza, when the occupation forces positioned on the border strip opened fire at him.

In another development, scores of gunmen broke into the building of the Palestinian Red Crescent in Khan Younis city, south Gaza, and others were deployed in the streets surrounding the building and set fire to tires and closed trade shops.

This came after the kidnapping of the director of the press office of the general secretariat of the central committee for the Fatah movement in Khan Younis, Suleiman al-Farra, on Sunday.

The chairman of the Fatah movement Farouk al-Qaddoumi called on the Palestinian preventive policy to release al-Farra.
