Three American soldiers were killed in Iraq

The American army confirmed that three of its soldiers were killed on Sunday so that number of soldiers killed within 24 hours increased to 7.

One American military source said that one soldier was killed in an attack against an US patrol in Sameraa (95 Km to the north of Baghdad) while one soldier was injured in the same attack, who was taken to the military hospital for treatment.

The statement said the two soldiers were killed following a bomb explosion when one military vehicle was running near al-Khaledeyah ( 120 Km to the west of Baghdad). The killing of the three soldiers came after the killing of 3 American marines and one sailor on Saturday evening in an attack by a booby trapped car on one American patrol near Haditha city in central Iraq.

By the killing of the seven American soldiers, the number of American soldiers killed in Iraq since March 2003 increased to 1596, according to official statistics.
