Al-Thawra: Chinese factories to move to Syria

Visit of the Chinese businesswomen and men to Syria comes within the framework of initialing the establishment of a number of Chinese factories in Syria in cooperation with Syrian industrialists and businessmen resident in China, Arab investor and supervisor on the establishment of Chinese city in Adra, Sheikh Hashel Bin Zayed al-Mubarak said.

In a statement to the Syrian al-Thawra daily, the investor clarified that Chinese delegation's visit to Syria is to complete the activities and arrangements of establishment of the Chinese city in the free zone in Adra, north Damascus.

Opening of this city was scheduled to be at beginning of April, but due to climate factors and some technical problems in nature of building and soil, the opening was postponed.

Sheikh Hashel added that all arrangements in China are underway by 170 Chinese companies to prepare and ship goods to Syria with the aim of transferring them to 17 Arab and European countries.

The Syrian investor in China, Mohammed Abdull Razzaq al-Jerodi, indicated that he has signed many contracts with the Chinese, asserting that establishing such factories in Syria will ensure a number of job opportunities and help in acquiring technology.

Syria has been chosen for such factories to be built in due to its geographic position and to the availability of artisans.

"The fourth Chinese delegation that includes representatives of the biggest Chinese industrial companies, of international fame, for putting the finishing touches regarding work of the city visits Syria soon." Sheikh Hashel concluded.
