Hattab calls for dropping weapons
Algeria, Politics, 3/17/2005

Leader of al-Salafeyah group for fighting and the call ( al-Dawa Wal Qital) in Algeria Hassan Hattab has called on all fighters to stop fighting and drop the weapons as well as to join national reconciliation and the general amnesty advocated by the Algerian President Abdul Aziz Butaflika.

This was expressed in a statement carrying the signature and the stamp of Hattab and signed on March 13 in Jejil province to the west of the country. Hattab criticized the armed Islamic group organization, the second and most dangerous armed organizations in Algeria.

He held its current leadership the responsibility of the "deviated armed work," expressing simultaneously his conviction on the seriousness of the Algerian authorities and its desire to reactivate pardoning so as to end the security crisis in Algeria, ultimately.
