Kuwait agrees to open a Palestinian embassy

The Palestinian charge de affairs in Amman Atallah Kheiri said that the Kuwaiti authorities agreed a request by the Palestinian authority to open an embassy for it in Kuwait.

He added in a press statement that the Palestinian authority will hold contacts during the coming phase with the Kuwaiti officials in order to complete the arrangements of opening the embassy.

The Palestinians do hope that the opening of their embassy in Kuwait will mark the beginning of a new phase in the bilateral relations at the political and economic levels between the two sides. Kuwaiti received the chairman of the Palestinian authority in December 2004 before he had assumed his current post. he, then apologized for the PLO supporting of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.
