Palestinian killed in Jenin, one Israeli settler injured in Gaza

One member of al-Aqsa group of the Palestine national liberation movement ( Fatah) was killed by the bullets of the Israeli occupation forces while incurring in Jenin city to the north of the West Bank yesterday.

Palestinian security forces said that Ammar Ghawaderah ( 24 year old) was killed as the Palestinian resistance men were confronting an incursion carried out by the occupation forces in the eastern quarters of the city. The sources explained that three other Palestinians were injured in the clashes one of them is in a grave condition.

News reports in Jenin said that the occupation soldiers are still holding the body of the killed Palestinian and they also detained other five Palestinians.

In Gaza, one Israeli settler was injured yesterday as two mortars shelling fell on Kfar Daroum settlement in the downtown of the sector. The reports in Gaza said that the Palestinian areas adjoining the settlement has been exposed to fire opened from the surrounding Israeli positions. No reports on casualties.

Nafe Dekalim settlement to the west of Khan Younis to the south of Gaza was exposed to five mortars shelling. Ezz eddine al-Qassam group, the military wing of the Islamic resistance movement ( Hamas) claimed in a statement responsibility for firing five mortar shelling on the Israeli Mouraj settlement near Rafah.

Salah Eddine al-Nasser groups, the military wing of the people's resistance committee said it fired two missiles of "Naser type 2" at Sederout town in Negev desert. A statement by the group said that the bombardment was a retaliation to the policy of assassination committed by the occupation forces against the Palestinian people.

These developments came, as Israeli press sources said that the occupation forces will reduce the volume of its attacks in Gaza at the recommendations of the defense ministry of fears that Israel had used the opportunity of the illness of the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat to escalate its attacks.
