Iraq-USA, Military, 10/29/2004

Two American soldiers were killed and other three injured in two separate attacks. One in an explosion in southern Baghdad and the second in Balad town to the north of the capital.

Three American soldiers were strongly injured in al-Ramadi city to the west of Baghdad which witnessed yesterday confrontations described as violent with Iraqi gunmen.

A statement by the Iraqi army said the three soldiers were hit in an explosion of one bomb that resulted also in injuring 8 Iraqis including three police members.

The American forces imposed a siege on al-Ramadi and started breaking in and detention acts.

Meantime, the American army stressed it had launched a raid against Falluja yesterday at dawn that resulted in killing three persons at least after its jets bombarded a house it alleged was used as a shelter to the supporters of al-Zarqawi.

Witnesses said the bombardment concentrated on the grocery market "where there was no gathering for al-Zarqawi network." News reports said that there are intensive American military moves to the western and eastern direction of Falluja near a military base known as al-Mazraa base, while frequent bombardment continued against al-Ramadi city.

In Basra to the south of Iraq three Iraqi police men were killed and other three injured in a bomb explosion under their car yesterday morning.
