AL moves to stop Israeli attacks against the Palestinians

The Arab League AL has assigned the Arab group at the UN to call for convening an urgent meeting for the UN General Assembly or the UN Security Council to halt the "Israeli war of extermination against the Palestinian people."

This was expressed in conclusion of the emergency meeting of the AL council at the level of representatives. The statement issued by the meeting called on the " Quartet to shoulder its responsibility and to move immediately in order to take a decisive decision to halt the aggression.

The AL also appealed countries, organizations, the societies of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent to provide immediate aids for the Palestinian people to withstand the grave and devastating conditions the Palestinians are facing.

For his part, the Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Abu al-Gheit renewed demanding Israel to stop its attack inside Gaza and stressed that this attack places more obstacles before peace.
