Occupation forces invade Balatah camp

One Palestinian was killed by the Israeli forces and a woman settler in a Palestinian attack. News reports quoted Israeli military sources as saying that the Israeli occupation forces killed one Palestinian at the border strip with Egypt, while trying to implant an explosive.

This, however, came hours after the killing of one Jewish woman settler in an attack for the Palestinian resistance by mortars that targeted Nafe Dekalim settlement to the west of Khan Younis camp for the Palestinian refugees to the south of Gaza.

The Islamic Hamas movement and Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack.

The occupation forces retaliated by opening fire and tanks shelling in Khan Younis camp and Nasser hospital which is close to the settlement. As a result of the intensive Israeli bombardment two Palestinians were injured including an 9- year old child.

An adviser for the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon threatened to take all necessary measures to halt these attacks and accused the Palestinians of trying to obstruct the unilateral withdrawal plan from Gaza.

In the West Bank, Israeli military escalation also continued. News reports said that the occupation forces in Nablus broke into Balath camp and besieged several houses in search of wanted persons and the Palestinians challenged the Israeli incursion and confrontation took place between the youths and the occupation forces.
