Sharon threatens to kill Yasser Arafat
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 9/23/2004
The Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon has implicitly threatened to kill the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat saying that "Arafat will get what he deserves," noting that Israel has killed several leaders of the Islamic Hamas movement.
On Tuesday, Sharon announced the beginning of the withdrawal plan from Gaza, thereby defying the opposition inside his party the Likud to this plan.
In the context of the vast opposition Sharon's plan received from a large sector in the Likud party, the settlers filed a case against the government plan to pay compensations who agree to evacuate their houses voluntarily in the West Bank and Gaza before the end of the grace period set for that in 2005.
