Seven gunmen killed in clashes with the Iraqi national guards

Frequent military confrontations continued between the Iraqi gunmen and the American forces and the Iraqi national guards in various parts of Iraq where the confrontations resulted during the 24 hours in killing and injuring scores.

On Thursday, seven armed men were killed in confrontations that took place in al-Teifeh area to the south of Baghdad and 7 of the Iraqi national guards were injured. The fighting escalated in al-Ramadi city between Iraqi gunmen and members of the American forces that resulted in killing two Iraqi civilians and wounding other 11.

Other 20 Iraqis were killed and other 6 injured in an air raid carried out by one American fighter against Faluja. This increases the number of the American attacks on this city to 200 and injuring hundreds since April, while more than 70 houses were destroyed.

In Baghdad, the American forces continued its calls to the militias of al-Mahdi army of the Shiite leader Muqtada al-sader to hand over heavy weapons following the truce announced by al-Sader on Monday.

Soldiers said through loudspeakers fixed on tanks and military vehicles "we call on al-Mahdi army to hand over its heavy weapons according to the agreement finalized with Baem al-Kaabi," in remarks to the representative of al-Sader in Baghdad.
