Israel rejects the Hague's court decision on the separation wall
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 7/10/2004

Israel yesterday rejected the decision taken by the International Court of Justice against building its separation wall in the West Bank. The Israeli minister of Justice Yusi Lapid said that the " Only decision the Israeli government takes into account is that of the supreme Israeli court," accusing the Hague's court of adopting a prior hostile position against Israel.

The Israeli foreign minister Silvan Shalom said that the wall is a "security means" and its can be transferred according to the results of the negotiations with the Palestinians.

For his part, the Israeli President Moshe Katsav considered that the court miscalculated its decision and called on the government and the security forces to complete building the wall which is " not a fixed wall, nor of political inclination rather a security one."
