Al- Ahram the new government is next week
Egypt, Politics, 7/9/2004
The Egyptian daily al-Ahram said that a new government "will give its constitutional oath before President Muhammad Hosni Mubarak during this week " and that the current prime minister Atef Obeid will occupy " a new post relating to economic issues at the internal and external levels and this position will be linked directly to President Mubarak."
In its today's issue, the paper said that the new prime minister will be selected " from members of the current government or outside it and will be assigned to form the new government which is expected to include several new faces in order to have renewed blood that would accelerate having Egypt transferred to the age of technology and information, so as to improve the government's performance and eliminate routine."
The paper added that it is expected the " new government will have 14 new ministers which is half the number of members of the current government's ministers." Mubarak, however, returned back to Egypt on Wednesday from a medical treatment trip in Germany lasted for two weeks. The Muslim Brothers groups in Egypt extended a cable of congratulations to Mubarak on his coming back.
