Saudi- Yemeni border demarcation operations finalized

Sanaa announced yesterday that the German "Hanza Luftpedia" company in charge of border demarcation between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, according to Jeddah treaty, completed border demarcation between the two states.
The Yemeni ambassador in Saudi Arabia, Deif Allah Hussein, said that " The last border mark between Yemen and Saudi Arabia was laid by the German Hanza Luft company according to Jeddah treaty signed between the two countries."
He added in a statement issued by the Yemeni weekly " September 26th," mouthpiece of the Yemeni defense ministry, that the " last border mark is number 222 by which field operations to border demarcation are completely finalized." He added that after completing border works and field works there will be only completion of technical works including maps which are expected to be completed by the mid of 2005."
On the other hand, the Saudi daily Okaz said the Saudi security forces foiled an attempt to smuggle 49,000 bullets to Saudi Arabia from an area near to the Yemeni borders.
