King Abdullah: we do not have the right to send forces to Iraq
Jordan-Iraq, Politics, 5/18/2004

The Jordanian King Abdullah II stressed in the closing ceremony of the world economic forum in al-Shouna in Jordan that the international community faces the challenge of finding solutions for the Palestinian issue and the future of Iraq, while the Israeli foreign minister Silvan Shalom seized the opportunity of taking part in the final session of the forum in order to defend demolishing the houses of the Palestinian in Gaza and to launch a campaign against the Palestinian authority.

The Jordanian king said that the " basic challenge which we had prepared ourselves for is dedicating enough determination and will for our urgent case Palestine and find out a solution for the future of Iraq." He considered that the basic motive for the work always remains the conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis and the real challenge lies here is our faith in our ability to solve the problem.."

He continued " regardless to the besieging obstructing forces, we have to achieve justice for the Palestinians, provide security for the Israelis and we have to work for the change."

He said replying to a question that countries neighboring Iraq should not send forces to it so as not to affect its political future. He said it is just a " moral issue and we do not have, nor any of Iraq's neighbor the right to dispatch forces.. we want to help the Iraqis by other means." He called on the Iraqis to be careful during the authority transfer, noting that the basic challenge lies in the identity of the next Iraqi prime minister who said he has to be from inside Iraq rather from the leaderships which stayed all the time abroad.
