Israeli forces incur in the West Bank, 14 Palestinians killed

The Israeli occupation forces yesterday incurred in Yabad town to the north of the West Bank. Palestinian security sources said the Israeli occupation broke into the town by 15 jeep cars backed by a helicopter and a reconnaissance plane and imposed embargo in the town which is situated to the east of Jenin.

An Israeli security source said the occupation forces incurred in the town in search of one Palestinian activist who opened fire at Israeli soldiers in the area and the occupation forces opened fire to disperse the Palestinian demonstrators.

The Israeli incursion in the West Bank comes after less than one day from invading the Palestinian camps in al-Nuseirat and al-Breij in Gaza which resulted in killing 14 Palestinians by the occupation bullets and wounding more than 80 other.

The Israeli army chief of staff Moshe Yaloun said earlier in the day that the Israeli operation in al-Nuseirat and al-Breij camp aimed at arresting what are called by Israel as "wanted."

He added that such operations will continue and have nothing to do with withdrawal plans from Gaza. Yaloun described during his inspection of Erez crossing at the northern entrance of Gaza the operations as a common military activity that aims at foiling Palestinian operations and attacks before their takle place.

In an official statement, the Palestinian authority deplored the invasion of the two camps and called on countries which sponsor the ME peace process, the UN Security Council and the Quartet to put an end "for the continued Israeli violations of the international law and the efforts made to safeguard the ME peace process." It called for interfering in order to halt the series of the continued Israeli attacks in the Palestinian territories and to ensure international protection for the Palestinians.
