More than 1,000 Arabs foreigners expelled from Yemen

The ruling People's General Congress party in Yemen said on its website that the Yemeni authorities expelled in recent days more than 1,000 persons belonging to Arab and foreign states most of them expelled for security reasons.
The same source added quoting the police that 1055 foreigners including 558 Somalis, 110 Ethiopians; 94 Sudanese, 14 Syrians, 10 Libyans, 24 Indians were expelled from the country.
Pressured by the US, the Yemeni authorities expelled in the context of fighting what is called terrorism more than 1800 persons in 2002.
On the other hand, the Yemeni government announced yesterday the killing of 7 Yemenis and wounding of another three in the fire which erupted last Monday in Haer prison, the largest Saudi jails in Riyadh.
The Saudi authorities announced only the death of 5 Yemenis among the other 67 persons who were killed in the said fire.
An official statement also circulated in Riyadh announced the killing of three people from Chad, two Jordanians, two Somalis, one Sudanese, one Eritrean, one Palestinian and one from Bangladesh.
