Former Egyptian army chief commends Iraq's steadfastness
Egypt-Iraq, Politics, 3/26/2003

Egyptian Forces Leader in the October Liberation War, Gen. Sa'd Eddine Al-Shazeli, has stressed the importance of the Iraqi people and army's steadfastness in confronting the US-British aggression.

In an interview issued yesterday in Amman with the Jordanian weekly newspaper, Al-Sabeel, he said that the Iraqi people' steadfastness will help to have the US and Britain halt the war.

Regarding the US president, George.W. Bush's demands on Iraq to respect the Geneva Convention regarding the US captured soldiers, Al-Shazeli wondered about this demand describing it as an illogical speech. He asked:: has Bush recognized International Law before -- in order to speak about Geneva Convention.
