Saudi foreign minister calls on Iraq to take dramatic steps
Saudi Arabia-Iraq, Politics, 3/13/2003
The Saudi foreign minister Prince Saud al-Faisal yesterday called on Iraq to take "dramatic steps" if it wants to avoid war.
In a press conference in Jeddah, the Saudi foreign minister explained that Iraq has to "take dramatic steps towards the implementation of UN resolutions if it wants to spare the war." Noting that these steps are in particular to answer questions stated in the two reports of the UN related inspection teams Hans Blix and Mohamed ElBaradei.
Al-Faisal expressed his regret over the split taking place at the UN Security Council saying that "this will be conducive to war."
