Israel destroy 16 houses, expel 40 Palestinian families from their homes

The Israeli forces yesterday demolished 16 Palestinian houses, 13 of them are in Rafah in Gaza and the other three in the West Bank. The Israeli forces also evacuated 40 Palestinian families from the southern quarters in Qabatya from their houses on charges of taking part in Intifada activities.

These Israeli forces also arrested more than 22 Palestinians during incursion and breaking in operations carried out yesterday against several Palestinian cities and gatherings in the West Bank and Gaza.

One Palestinian was wounded yesterday at dawn while trying to break into one of the settlements complex in Ghoushe Katif in Gaza. The Israeli radio said that the said Palestinian was able to cross the security belt surrounding the complex and opened fire at the guards of the settlement and he was arrested later.

Another Palestinian was greatly wounded as the Israeli soldiers opened fire at him near Beit Takfah settlement in Gaza.

In a statement to the Israeli radio, Israeli military sources claimed that the said Palestinian tried to break into the said settlement.

An Israeli military spokesman admitted that a large explosive went off when an armored Israeli vehicle passed at the northern entrance of the city of Bethlehem in the West Bank.

At the political level, the Israeli foreign minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the American plan known as Road Map will be futile for Israel.

The Israeli radio quoted Netanyahu as saying during a meeting yesterday with the director general of the Israeli elections committee More Adre that the said Road Map does not achieve what Israel's goals.
