Cultural agreement between Qatar, Sudan

Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir has received a message from Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani, relating to bilateral relations between the two states. The message was handed over by the chairman of the national council for culture, the arts and heritage in Qatar Sheikh Saud Bin Muhammad Bin Ali al-Thani during his meeting with the Sudanese president in Khartoum on Saturday.
President al-Bashir stressed the solid relations between the two states and Sudan's care to boost these relations for the interests of the two peoples. He commended the stances of Qatar, people, government and people towards the people of Sudan.
In a statement to the Qatari News Agency, Sheikh Saud said that his visit to Khartoum was in the framework of the works of the Sudanese- Qatari joint higher committee to revitalize cooperation in the field of culture, the arts and heritage, by signing an agreement to this effect and the exchange of museum exhibits between the two states.
He expressed his hope to the ability of the two states to create a cultural national project to preserve heritage and the antiquities through a project to excavate for antiquities in Sudan.
