Syrian defense minister visits military formations
Lebanon-Syria, Politics, 12/6/2002
Under the directives of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Deputy Commander in Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, Moustafa Tlass, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, visited a military formation in Lebanon.
In his address to the forces, Tlass underlined the "strong standing bilateral relations between Syria and Lebanon who are standing in the same trench against Zionist ambitions which target the Arab region. "
He underlined Syria's stances of principle which clearly manifested by Syria's diplomatic activities at the UN. Security Council which to avoid Iraq a military strike.
