The UN ME peace coordinator Terry Rod Larsen announced yesterday that the Quartet committee which includes the US, the UN, Russia and the European Union will hold a meeting in December in Europe in order to discuss once again "the road map" in order to finding out a solution for the Israeli- Palestinian conflict.

Following his meeting with the Syrian foreign minister yesterday in Damascus, Larsen explained that the US secretary of State Colin Powell, the UN secretary general Kofi Annan, the representative of the EU for foreign affairs Javier Solana and the Russian foreign minister Igor Ivanov, the EU commissioner for foreign political affairs, Chris Patten will take part in the meeting.

Larsen said "there will be no final decision, more expectedly, before convening this large meeting in December in Europe which will basically concentrate on the road map." He said "I have informed al-Shara with all activities pertinent to the road map. A process which still in need of development."

Worthy mentioning that Damascus expressed reservations on the document (road map) -- proposed by the assistant of the US secretary of state William Burns to 11 countries in the region, including Syria.
