Iraq- Iran to discuss expanding cooperation

In a step that indicates the development of political relations between Iraq and Iran, the joint ministerial committee between the two countries will start its meetings in Baghdad next week.
An official source at the Iraqi trade ministry said that the Iranian trade minister will start during the two coming days a visit to Iraq to attend the inauguration of the 35th session of the Baghdad's international fair which will be opened by the beginning of November and last for two weeks.
The source added that a high ranking Iranian technical delegation led by Mujtabi Khisro Taj, the secretary of the Iranian ministry of economy and foreign trade started contacts with the Iraqi side in order to discuss necessary preparations to convene the new session of the joint Iraqi- Iranian committee and means of expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
The source also stressed that the Iraqi trade minister Muhammad Mahdi Saleh met with the Iranian official and discussed with him means of providing a success for the first meeting of the joint Iranian- Iraqi committee held since 25 years.
