Arab states decided to sever their relations with any country which transfer its embassy to Al-Quds
Regional-Palestine, Politics, 10/15/2002
The Arab summitŐs follow-up and action committee has released a strongly worded statement following an emergency meeting at the level of the permanent representatives in the Arab League.
The committee called for activating the resolutions of the Al-Quds-related Arab summits and warned of severing all kinds of relations with any country that transferred its embassy to Al-Quds or recognized it as IsraelŐs capital.
The committee held an emergency meeting upon the request of Palestine to discuss the consequences of the U.S. legislation urging the transference of the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Al-Quds.
The committee has regarded as null and void the latest Israeli measures in Al-Quds which is part and parcel from the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967.
The committee, in addition, demanded Israel implement all relevant UN resolutions: 242 of 1967, 338 of 1973, 252 of 1968, 267 of 1969, 271 of 1969, 298 of 1971, 465 of 1980, 476 of 1980 and 478 of 1980.
The committee asserted its flat rejection for the latest US legislation, which was a brazen violation to the international legitimacy and the UN Security Council resolutions.
The committee supported the resolution taken by Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, which recognized Al-Quds as PalestineŐs capital and supported the uphill struggle of Palestinian people against the Israeli aggression.
The committee also called on the Organization of the Islamic ConferenceŐs Al-Quds committee to hold a summary meeting to tackle means of facing the grave consequences of the recent US legislation.
The committee, in conclusion, called on the Security Council and the Vatican to do everything in their power to prevent the judaization of Al-Quds.
