Al-Assad, Mubarak review formulating integrated Arab vision

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Monday held a short visit to Cairo during which he met with President Hosni Mubarak.
In conclusion of the visit, a joint press statement was issued noting that the two presidents discussed developments in the region, dangers inflicted on the Palestinian people as a result of the Israeli practices.
The two presidents called on the UN Security Council and the international powers to force Israel to abide by its obligations and force it to implement UN Security Council resolutions away from double standards.
The two presidents also reviewed the various implications of the Iraqi issue. They stressed the need of strengthening the international situation to direct a strike to Iraq and to use all means to dealing with the situation by peaceful means in a way that avoids the region the likely resulted dangers.
President al-Assad was accompanied by an official delegation composed of vice President Abdul Halim Khaddam, the deputy premier and foreign minister Farouk al-Shara and the Syrian ambassador in Cairo.
