Al-Qaddafi renews call for creating the IsraTeen country
Libya-Regional, Politics, 7/24/2002

Libya's Leader of the Revolution Colonel Muammar al Qathafi on Tuesday in Cairo criticized the Arabs because they "believe" the USA.

He explained that the Arabs will "not gain anything if they pursue the policy of concession," stressing his rejection for the foundation of a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza, and thereby, he renewed his call for the founding of the state of "IsraTeen," where Palestinians and Israelis live together in this newly named country. The country name "IsraTeen," conjured up by al-Qathafi, is made up by combining the first half of the Word "Israel" with the last part of the word by Philasteen (Arabic pronunciation for Palestine); thus the new name Isra-Teen.

In a press conference al-Qathafi said: "we have believed the US and then we saw the (US) Congress calling for the partition of Saudi Arabia into cantons, controlling it and closing of mosques and religious schools, and also talking about its role and the Wahabi movement" in what he called terrorism. He said: "he does not recognize nor oppose the foundation of a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza and it is better for the Palestinians to maintain the current situation," adding, "Having a state without a strong army will put it under the mercy of the Israeli army as is happening now."
