Egypt's government debt to rise by $ one billion
Egypt, Economics, 5/21/2002
Chief of the World Bank mission in Cairo Mahmoud Ayoub said yesterday that Egypt within the coming months will get $ one billion from the World Bank and the Africa Bank for Development. "This sum is a portion of the previously agreed upon aid decided by the Sharm El-Sheikh Donors Conference," Ayoub said.
"The Egyptian government and the joint mission of the two banks agreed during the talks on offering the said money to Egypt within the coming few months to support its financial and monetary reform," said Ayoub.
"Another World Bank technical mission is currently visiting Egypt to inspect some 18 projects funded by the bank," he added.
