Iraqi- Sudanese talks and signing a trade protocol

The Iraqi vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan has conveyed a verbal message from the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein to the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir relating to bilateral relations and the Arab causes of destiny and coordination between the two states in the Arab summit to be convened in Beirut by the end of the current month.
Ramadan who is visiting Khartoum in an official visit for three days signed with the Sudanese vice President Ali Othman Muhammad Taha a trade protocol with the Sudanese government that permitted the foundation of a common market between the two states.
Taha said that signing this protocol constitutes a new step that hoped to constitute a genuine breakthrough in the relations between the two states.
In statements he made, the Sudanese vice president said that his country has been always with the Iraqi people and stressed that Sudan will exert all efforts to lift the sanctions imposed on Iraq. He indicated that the protocol is considered a frank Sudanese announcement in solidarity with Iraq in order to eliminate all obstacles impeding it.
