A Kuwaiti paper highlights an American document

The Kuwaiti daily al-Seyasah in its Wednesday's issue highlighted an American document which draws ways to explode " the heart of Asia" as a way to control it through perpetuating ethnic and sectarian conflicts so as to destroy the security environment in the Near east."

The document unveiled the name of a committee formed under the name " Heard Rudman" under the supervision of the former US defense secretary William Cohen and was sponsored by former US President Bill Clinton. The said document, al-Seyasah added prepared a report dealt with the new global security environment and attached to it several studies from various parts of the world including the Middle East.

The committee described the " Greater Near East area" that the region which includes each of the Arab world, Israel, Iran, Central Asia, Caucus, the Indian continent. This region has the largest reservoir for power (oil. etc), besides being a battlefield for the conflict among several rival forces, which seek to impose hegemony on it.

The document described the ruling systems in this area, excluding Israel, Turkey and India, as oppressive regimes. Therefore, the document said, according to al-Seyasah, this area lacks democratic institutional systems and considered the home of extremist politically armed Islamic trends and therefore constituting a source of threat for its communities and neighbors as well as a place for conflicts between the Sunni and the Shiite; the Muslims and Hindu and the Jews; the Christian Copts and the Baha'; the Hindu and the Buddhist; in Sri Lanka, between the Kurds, the Turks, the Arabs, the Persians, the Armenians, the Azeri and the Tamil and many others.

The document considered that the first quarter of the current century is promising of a rapid change and this very change will take several forms including that that any collapse in a Greater Empire will result in unrest in its surrounding and that what happened in the former Soviet Union; The demographic element is considered another source of changing factors that might take place in the region later, where a rapid populations growth and a reduction in life span and this will result in increasing number of youth population.

The region will witness a change in the ruling generations in each of Iraq, Iran,.. and the interest will be on building the internal economy and inclination towards moderate politics.
