Muhammad Atta's father denies his son's involvement in US attacks
Egypt-USA, Politics, 9/22/2001
The Egyptian lawyer Muhammad Atta, father of engineer Muhammad al-Ameer Atta, suspected in leading the plane which broke into one of the two towers of the World Trade Center in New York denied his son's involvement in these operations.
In a statement to the London- based al-Sharq al-Awsat daily issued on Friday, Atta stressed that his son was living in Germany and did not leave it. He explained that his son phoned him after the attacks and did not talk about the incidents relating to the explosions.
He expressed his conviction that his son (identity) is kidnapped. He also added that his son does not know how to ride a plane, he rather fears to travel by air and always vomits when he takes the plane.
