Regional-Morocco, Culture, 5/5/2001
Arab and African ministers of finance are to hold a meeting in Marrakesh May 21-23 to debate childhood related issues.
The announcement was made in Rabat Friday evening by advisor to the king, Zoulikha Nasri, at a dinner-debate on the upcoming world summit on children.
The dinner-debate, organized by the association of MAP's journalists (AJMAP), was attended by several personalities including the minister of human rights and the vice-chairwoman of the national observatory of children's rights.
Rabat hosted May 2-4 a symposium on children's ill treatment that called for the creation of reception and counseling centers where ill-treated children can receive medical and psychological assistance.
The symposium, sponsored by the national observatory of children's rights, the health ministry and the World Health Organization, also called for promoting children's rights culture within the society.
