Somali government accuses Ethiopia of arming its opponents
Somalia-Ethiopia, Politics, 4/19/2001

The provisional government in Somalia on Wednesday accused of attempts to topple it through arming warlords who oppose it.

The Somali minister of information Zakaraya Haj Muhammad has criticized "Ethiopia's intervention in the internal affairs of Somalia through encouraging differences and re-arming war lords who oppose peace." He noted that groups which are armed by Ethiopia are positioned in the city of Bedawa ( in the downtown of southern Somalia).

Worthy mentioning the provisional government in Somalia was formed by the end of Summer 2000 in conclusion of the national reconciliation conference held in Djibouti. However, neither the provisional President Abdi Qasem salad Hassan nor his government and the parliament were able to impose their control and are not actually controlling just part of Makadishu.
