Mubarak to visit Syria on Wednesday

A source close to the Egyptian Presidency said on Monday that President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt will on Wednesday ( tomorrow) hold a visit to Syria which will last for several days.
News reports quoted the source as saying that the visit came amid the current preparations to convene the Arab summit in Amman by the end of the current month and the formation of the new Israeli government by Ariel Sharon.
Mubarak held his first visit to Damascus since President Bashar al-Assad assumed power in Syria on July 2000 and the Syrian President visited Cairo in October 2000 in his first visit outside the country since he assumed power in Syria.
