Emir of Kuwait plane inspected at Heathrow airport
Kuwait-USA, Local, 3/5/2001
Special units of the British security forces on Friday evening inspected the special plane of the Emir of Kuwait at Heathrow airport in London when the plane stopped to be provided with fuels in its way to Washington carrying on its board 30 members of high ranking American officials who took part in Kuwait's celebrations of its liberation day.
A source at the British police said that the inspection came after finding writings in the plane saying " Long live Iraq" in the English Language and all passengers who were on board of the plane were instructed to evacuate it of fears that there were bombs.
The sources explained that the signs of regret and astonishment appeared on the faces of the crew of the plane and the security men over these writing although the plane took off from Kuwait's airport directly to the Heathrow airport without any stop in any place.
The source noted that the passengers and the crew were frightened because of these writings and of fears that elements supporting Iraq had leaked to the plane at Kuwait's airport and placed bombs in it to explode it while flying, but the plane left London to Washington after four hours of inspection as nothing was found.
