Iraqi trade minister: Syrian- Iraqi trade volume is US $ 700 million

Iraqi trade minister Muhammad Mahdi Saleh said that the total trade exchange between Syria and Iraq has reached US $ 700 million and that the volume of this exchange will be increased in the future, as there are no impediments against maintaining cooperation and the establishment of joint projects between the two countries.
He added that the visit of the Iraqi delegation to Syria was made by a high ranking delegation led by vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan and several ministers who were in charge of signing a protocol or an agreement to implement the free trade zone between Iraq and Syria through which the two states will be made one market in which commodities flow without custom fees as well as cancellation of imports licensing, which was a great step towards the establishment of the common Arab market.
Concerning co-operation relations between Iraq and the Arab and foreign countries, the Iraqi minister stressed that Iraq has agreements with the Arab states including Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates UAE, the Arab Maghreb states, Tunisia and Algeria.
He added that the foreign relations Iraq has are with France, Russia and China. He said that Egypt comes as the fourth country in trade level after the three said countries at the world level.
