Bikar wins LE. 100,000 worth Mubarak Award for Arts

Egypt's Supreme Council of Culture under the Chairmanship of Culture Minister, Farouq Hosni, declared Saturday names of Mubarak award winners for literature, arts and social sciences for the year 2000. Renowned artist Hussein Bikar won LE 100,000 worth Mubarak award for arts. A book entitled "Role of foreign aid to Israel 48-96- building a state" by Ahmed Sayed Ahmed Naggar won a prize of merit in the field of economy.
The prize in the field of social sciences was withheld together with an arts prize because, as Farouq Hosni said works were presented by very distinguished personalities and it was difficult to make preference among them.
Those who had been nominated for the science prize were Dr. Atef Sidki, Dr. Ali Loutfi, Dr. Ahmed khalifa (a former Minister of Social Affairs), Ismail Sabri Abdalla and Mahmoud Naguib Hosni.
It was also to be presented posthumously to Suliman Huzzayen while Anis Mansour, Shawki Deif and Tharwat Abaza where nominated for the arts Prize.
