Days for Lebanese culture and arts start today in Cairo

Egyptian Culture Minister Farouk Hosni and Hesham Demashekeh, Lebanon's ambassador in Cairo, opened this morning in the Egyptian opera house days for Lebanese culture and arts that are being held under the title "Sham's role in developing the Egyptian culture."
Numerous Lebanese dramatists, thinkers and authors immigrated to Cairo between 1840 and 1940, especially at the beginning of the 20th century, and tried to establis newspapers and magazines, developed theatre arts in Egypt, and participated in bringing the cinema industry to Egypt and developing Egyptian music.
These days will conclude on Thursday with a concert by the Lebanese Arab music band.
These days also include lectures, symposiums, workshops, concerts, cinema shows, poetic evenings and a fair for Lebanese books.
